Hello Baby, I Love You! Abc's for Young Moms

DAY 24 OF 27

W

is for Wait Patiently

Investing in your infant is just like watering a seed to help it grow. You don’t see immediate results.

For a long time, your infant will not respond to all of your conversation and coo and singing and coddling. Pouring into him or her. They are learning from you, observing you, and taking it all in like a sponge. Be patient. Keep investing. Pour your heart out. It will be so worth it! One day when you least expect it all of a sudden you will have a response.

  • Be attentive.
  • Be focused.
  • Be verbal and engaging using words, sounds, and songs.
  • Be patient when they are fussy.
  • Be gentle when they are kicking or bawking.
  • Be consistent with your “yes” and your “no.”
  • Be nurturing when they are hurting.

The list could go on and on.

Wait patiently. Wait faithfully. Wait hopefully.

Think about this: the fruit of a tree comes long after the seed has been planted.

READ the SCRIPTURE

May God give you encouragement, wisdom, and understanding.

RESPOND in WORSHIP

Worship the Lord with your heart, soul, mind, and with your life. Record your thoughts, observations, and prayers in a journal or on your Notes app on your phone.

Take the Truth to Heart: Choose one Scripture that the Lord is using to renew your mind and transform your heart today.

Ask yourself, what is God revealing to me through this Scripture?

Bring the Truth to Life: Think of ways you can practically apply this Scripture.
