Selecting the Right Board Sample

Selecting the Right Board

DAY 3 OF 5

Selecting the Right Board - Part III

This week I’m addressing the importance of selecting the right leaders for a board or church. In Titus 1:8, Paul said about overseers, “Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.”

Today let’s discuss someone who loves what is good.  Strong’s Concordance defines this as a “promoter of virtue.” It is someone who desires the organization they serve to be a beacon of virtue.

These types of leaders will typically help hold the organization accountable to high standards and draw the best out of others. Strong character is crucial for the leaders of any organization, and it takes those who love well at a board level to help it permeate throughout the organization.

About this Plan

Selecting the Right Board

In the Book of Titus, the Apostle Paul provided some wise direction in the attributes that should and should not be present in an overseer or board role. We would do well to heed his wisdom when selecting leaders for church or business.
