"Planted for Purpose"
Esther was chosen in more ways than one. While she was favored by King Xerxes and chosen to become queen for her incomparable beauty, she was also favored by God. Esther, an orphaned Jew who stumbled upon royalty, was chosen to be the voice of salvation for the Jews and she didn’t even know it. But Mordecai did. “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” What powerful words. If you scour the pages of Esther, never once will you see God’s name mentioned. Yet, His power and His purpose are present through one of His daughters and recognized by a humble servant. This is our story and one we are meant to fulfill fearlessly.
We are all Esthers. We have been chosen as daughters of the King to serve a purpose. Whether we realize it or not, God has created us—hand selected us—to do great things in His name. Esther could have easily declined Mordecai’s pleas. Instead, she made the decision to look past the short-term consequences of her fears and act with bold faith. God places us for His own purpose. Whether that is in a particular environment or with certain people, our lives don’t just happen by circumstance. God knows us better than anyone else—inside and out. He knows our weaknesses, but He also knows our strengths and uses us to bring glory to His name. We have a purpose greater than what we could imagine and God fully intends to use us in the most unexpected places.
Reflect
God positions us for a greater purpose and His plans for our lives will always prevail regardless of the decrees of the world.
Respond

About this Plan
2 Timothy 1:7 tells us that “God has not given us a spirit of fear.” A powerful truth, but not one that is easy to walk in. Sometimes it seems like fear is stalking us, just waiting to take control of our lives. We don’t have to live this way. This week-long devotional from Seacoast Church will encourage you to stand firm in the face of fear. Through God’s power and his promises to us, we can learn what it means to be Fearless.
