DAY 9 OF 14

Created to Complement

God created us—male and female—to look and act just like He does. As the icing on the cake, He crowned us with glory and honor!

We did not evolve to be a little higher than an ape. A divine being designed us to be a little lower than the angels. If we debunk that “monkey business,” it changes everything.

Created a little lower than the angels in the image of God, we are not just a step above an animal. We have a different nature and character. It is not humankind’s nature to behave like an animal; we were created for more—to reflect the image of our Maker!

God created the male and female, equally valued and loved. Our differences allow the world to continue as God designed it. He instructed Adam and Eve to “be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:28). That means kids—not cars or condos!

God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep and took a rib from his side to create the woman (Genesis 2:21-22). He did not take from Adam’s head so that Eve would rule over him. He did not take from Adam’s foot so that he would walk over her. He took her from Adam’s side so that they would walk side by side to complement and complete one another.

Today's Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Thank God for creating you in His image, highly favored and immeasurably loved by your Heavenly Father. Shine for His glory!
