Qualities Of An "Unconventional" Business LeaderSample
Qualities Of An "Unconventional" Business Leader | 1. Love God
In this seven-part study, we will reveal scriptures and stories that illustrate the seven key qualities of Unconventional LEADING. Today we begin with “L” for love God.
In a 2018 study, Barna Research found that 28% of Christians integrate their faith and their work.
In my experience, that number seems high. Why? Because I worked in the marketplace fifteen-plus years before I met someone who integrated their faith into their daily workplace activities. It wasn't until then that I met Gregg.
Gregg was a bank president who hired me to be his Chief Lending Officer. When I asked Gregg for help in making a bank decision, he frequently pointed me to either a Bible verse, a principle that came from the Bible, or a story or parable that highlighted a Biblical truth.
Over time, I learned that Gregg showed his love for God by learning, obeying and applying God’s Word to his daily work situations. His method was counter to what I expected in an esteemed leader. But, gradually, I began to understand the wisdom in his unique approach to work. He modeled the qualities you would expect to find in, what I term today, an "unconventional" business leader.
1 John 2:4-5 teaches, “Whoever says, ‘I know him,’ but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys His word, love for God is truly made complete in them.”
If you desire to reveal your love for God while becoming an unconventional leader, learn, obey and apply God’s Word to your workplace situations as well as to your life.
