Advent - Oh, Come Let Us Adore Him!

DAY 1 OF 20

Oh, Come Let Us Adore Him!

Anno Domini, the year of our Lord. The calendar of the planet revolves around one date—the birth of Jesus Christ. Whether or not we have faith in who Christ claimed to be, it remains as a beginning point by which the world lives. This one event altered history.

Never had the term, Savior, been used. “She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins” Matthew 1:21. What is a Savior, and why do we need one? God had set his standard—perfection. Mankind quickly realized the futile attempt to live up to that standard. Making attempts to appease God, they knew there was no way. Through faith and faith alone—in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ—the way to God became possible. His life was the perfect restitution required by God. This all began with what seemed to be an insignificant child born in Bethlehem.

This brief four-week study is meant to draw our attention to the humble commencement of the Savior of our lives. As you read, ponder, and study God’s Word, amazing changes begin to transpire deep within you. The season of Advent will become an exciting time of preparation as you study the Scriptures associated with His arrival.

Peek inside these four stories. You will find yourself in the midst of the aroma of sweet hay and among the sounds of the clamorous temple. You will behold the sights of a starry night and embrace the tiny hands of a newborn babe. You will have moments to feel what it was like to be a live witness of the grand announcement and be able to join with all of creation bowing in reverence to this King.

God planned this moment from eternity past. Jesus was right on time. Let us prepare ourselves.

Each day: read the Scripture, pray for understanding, and answer the questions.
