DAY 15 OF 28

No Man Left Behind

There is an ethos among military men when they go into battle. It is understood that when a fellow soldier is captured or injured, then resources will be activated to return that one to friendly territory. Depending upon the circumstances, search and rescue will be activated to find the comrade, or diplomacy will be sent to negotiate a release if captured. In the soldier’s mind, there is hope that someone is coming, someone cares and will bring him or her “home”. Jesus experienced something far greater than the human mind can comprehend - absolute forsakenness by His Father: but it was for yours and my redemption! From this horrific event, we have an understanding of His forsakenness and a promise that He would never leave us nor forsake us – ever!

Prayer: Lord, You know me, my ways, my heart - who I am. My desire is to be with you forever. Please search my heart and my motives and show me anything that hinders me from having a strong vibrant relationship with you. Thank you for Your grace, forgiveness, and great love. Amen.
