Several times in my life I chose to build things like house projects, car projects, etc. Every time, I didn’t pay any attention to what the projects would cost and ended up in a bad situation that usually led to the project not being completed. In the end, it made it look to others like I wasn’t paying attention or was lost. Other times I’ve just abandoned it or quit altogether. In these verses Jesus teaches us about the cost of being a disciple. As living out a Christ-like life also means we face troubles that may come with a steep cost. Following Christ does not promise a trouble-free life.  When we choose to be a disciple, we have to be aware of that, and remember that because of Jesus’ love for us, the price has already been paid in full.
