Real Hope: The Voice of GodSample

Is God Speaking to You Today?
Listening to God can be very different to expecting to hear the audible voice of God booming out of the sky. I am not saying that isn’t possible, however, it does seem to me that God is more interested in a personal relationship and wants to connect with each of us in ways that show a sense of care for our unique personalities.
I have been inspired by all the different ways God communicated with people in the scriptures. God encourages Abraham’s heart in his old age as he looks up at the stars to let him imagine fathering a nation. He allows Moses’s curiosity in a burning bush to become the beginning of a conversation. God calls to people like Samuel in their dreams while others like Elijah listened for the whisper of God in the breeze after a storm. Some of the prophets saw visons and others wrote down poetry and songs that God spoke to them for the sake of others. The life and words of Jesus still resonate as God’s own son representing a loving Father’s voice.
I know God often communicates with me through nature and the kindness of other people. I just need to be willing to notice and listen. I wonder how God is speaking with you today. I hope you will not be so busy you miss it.
