Introduction
Today’s reading is David’s response to the message the prophet Nathan delivered from God. He offers a prayer that incorporates praise, thanksgiving, and concludes with a petition.

Today’s Key Verse: 1 Chronicles 17:27
[David prayed:] “I ask you to bless my descendants so that they will continue to enjoy your favor. You, LORD, have blessed them, and your blessing will rest on them forever.”
Reflect
For what does David thank God in the present time? For what activities in the past does David praise God? What is David’s petition for the future? What promises of God are close to your heart?
Pray
Gracious God, there is none like you; you alone are the one true God, and you are the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever. I thank and praise you for your steadfast love and for all your mighty deeds. Amen.
