Better, Faster, Stronger FaithSample

Is it possible that God is trying to get you to unlearn how the world works, so you can see how He works? 

Sometimes life can become too much and we start to lose our faith. That's where we need to sit down and refocus our life back on God and unlearn the world's works. It’s as simple as taking a few minutes in the day to tell yourself that everything will be okay because you have a God on your side that will help you through every trial, battle or addiction. Unlearning how the world works and refocusing your life into God's works helps grow your faith bigger, faster, and stronger. 

Life is like the story of Peter walking on water. He was going so well and focusing on God until his fear and doubt kicked in. He began to sink and struggle. This is when God extended His hand and helped him across the water. He asked, “why did you doubt?” 

Occasionally life gets hard and we lose our faith, but God is always there extending His hand, waiting for us to take hold of it. In the song "Whole Heart" by Hillsong United there’s a verse that says “You pulled me from the clay, set me on a rock, called me by Your Name, and made my heart whole again.” This verse is saying that God is here, ready to pull you out of your situation and help through to your next chapter.

We don’t always see God’s hand because we are too wrapped up in our own life struggles. But God wants to help us. He wants to see us succeed. He’s here to help grow your faith and bring you closer to Him. Life can be going by easily and our relationship with God is strong. We think, “man this is easy,” but then life throws us a small curveball and we start to doubt God and turn our eyes off Him.

Just like Peter when he was walking, he started to get anxious and lost his focus on God. He began sinking and drowning until God picked him up out of the water and helped him back into his boat. See, God is here to help us get through our rough patches. He ACTUALLY wants to help us. He is waiting for us to ask Him for help. 

It’s as simple as praying “God help me, I can’t do this on my own, I’m handing this situation over to You because I know that You are bigger and stronger than what I am facing.” When we start trusting God and believing He will make a way through our situation, our faith grows bigger, faster, and stronger because we are teaching ourselves to rely on Him when life gets tough.
