The Power of Your WordsSample
YOU ARE NO GREATER THAN WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART
“A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.” Luke 6:45 NLT
Have you ever intended to say the opposite of what you feel, but when you began to speak, the truth slipped out? It was a slip of the tongue that revealed an unconscious or subdued thought, known as a Freudian slip. No matter how hard we try to appear politically correct or morally refined, our words reveal the truth that is in our hearts. Our truth is the fruit of the good seed of the word of God or the evil seed of the enemy of our souls.
We must be diligent to guard our hearts against the words of the evil one, lest they take root and bring forth bad fruit, which can alter the course of our life. “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” Proverbs 4:23 NLT
PRAYER: Dear Lord, may the seed of your word produce good fruit in my life which flows from a good heart.

About this Plan
In Matthew 13:18-23, Jesus taught his disciples the power of words. The seed, which is sown, represents the word of God. The ground that receives the seed symbolizes the conditions of the hearts of mankind. The fruit which came forth is the manifestation of the word. The words we speak impact our life and the life of others. In this devotional, we will discover the power of our words.
