Day 5: What Will the Future Hold?
The Restoration
What will the future hold?
For everyone who trusts in Jesus alone for rescue, God has promised to restore your heart and set you free from sin's hold—because God is loving, kind, merciful, forgiving, tenderhearted, and true.
God has promised to make all things new (Revelation 21:1-5). One day, there will be a new heaven and a new earth, forever free from sin. Everything that causes pain and sadness will be gone (Isaiah 11:6-9). No more shattering earthquakes, devastating tsunamis, or violent storms will plague the earth. No more pain, broken hearts, sickness, or death to trouble us (Romans 8:22-23). Everything will be restored to the way it was meant to be. God's original purpose will flourish, as those who trust in His rescue will enter into the grand purpose of worshipping Him by loving Him, serving Him, and enjoying relationship with Him forever.
The most wonderful part of this new world is that we will be with God forever, experiencing complete joy. The moment you trust in Jesus, your relationship with God is restored because Jesus has closed the divide sin caused. We will enjoy in full a perfect relationship with the One who created us, loved us, and died for us (Revelation 22:3-5). Getting to know this all-loving God starts today and continues forever, for God's Story never ends.
God is writing an amazing Story, and He created you to be a part of it to worship Him, serve Him, and enjoy relationship with Him. By joining God in His Story, you will find forgiveness, purpose, and satisfaction as you come to know the Author of life.
You can make God's Story the foundation of your life even now by:
- admitting your need for God's rescue (Luke 18:13)
- asking forgiveness for your sin (John 6:47)
- trusting in Jesus Christ alone to rescue you (Ephesians 2:8-9)
- following Jesus in faith from this moment on (Matthew 16:24)
This is God's Story. Will you make it yours?
