NKJV 365 Day Reading PlanSample
Be a Responsible Follower
Moses and Aaron had their authority from God and were acting on that authority. They were guilty of no wrongdoing. Korah, descended from Levi, may have been prompted by pride. Not satisfied with his duties given him by God through Moses, he and the others may have had ambitions to become priests. Using truth illegitimately, they claimed that while all the congregation was holy, Moses and Aaron were using their position to lord it over the rest.
No matter what the truth alluded to, or the excuse, rebellion against God’s leaders is wrong. The seriousness of this sin is seen in God’s taking thousands of lives and almost destroying the nation of Israel.
Churches, organizations, marriages, and homes all can be affected by murmuring, by rebelling against those whom God has appointed to lead. Great blessing and joy and guidance come from turning such feelings over to God and obeying Him and those whom He has designated. It is an imperative choice.
