Day 5 - Get Ready
Florent Bizabishaka
Luke 7:30 NLT
But the Pharisees and experts in religious law rejected God’s plan for them, for they had refused John’s baptism.
John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He was the man Isaiah referred to as the voice shouting in the wilderness “Prepare/Clear/make straight the way of the Lord.”
Repentance was a prerequisite for God to reveal something new to the world. The word became human and made his home among us, something no one could have ever imagined!
As Christians, we sometimes think that we know how God operates mostly because of our past experiences, but God speaks to his people through revelation, and revelation is not based on knowledge.
The only way we can prepare ourselves and get ready for what God is doing in his church is to repent. Repentance is a change of one’s mind, a surrender, a laying down of one’s purpose and knowledge.
Repentance is accepting that God’s ways and plans are better than ours. In this season, we can either rebel or accept to change again! Let’s not be like the Pharisees who missed out and rejected God’s plan for them.
We need to be willing to surrender again. Whoever you are or whatever position you hold in church or at work, God is not so much interested in your knowledge or past experiences, He is interested in your surrender.
Isaiah 43:19 says “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
I believe God is doing a new thing, I want to surrender again like the first day I accepted Jesus in my life. I did not become too knowledgeable to miss what God is doing.
For the cave 2020, would you prepare the way of the Lord by surrendering and allowing the METANOIA (Change of mind) to work in you again? Don’t expect God to build on your knowledge, expect a shift of the status quo.
Get ready! God bless you.
