I'm Not Slowing DownSample

 We live in a world that celebrates achievement and gives accolades for hard work. Those are both great things, but neither one is the source of our spiritual growth. Our growth comes from the understanding of what Jesus has done for us. Jesus gave his life for us on the cross, was buried, and was resurrected so that we can have life to the fullest. Our calling in life is to allow God to speed us up, rather than to let the world slow us down. Religion tells us that what we are “doing or not doing” helps us grow, and makes us feel guilty for not following the rules, which can slow us down. When we try to follow the Holy Spirit and religious rules at the same time, it leads to frustration. When we follow the Holy Spirit, we can move and have freedom to grow and help others to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

1. Am I listening to the Holy Spirit, or am I trying to follow a set of rules that are holding me back?
