Encountering God’s Love: Face to FaceSample
Day Five: Boldness
“For he is the complete fullness of deity living in human form. And our own completeness is now found in him. We are completely filled with God as Christ’s fullness overflows within us. He is the Head of every kingdom and authority in the universe!” Col. 2:9-10 TPT
Read those two verses again – slowly.
Seeing yourself in light of this truth can change everything. You are not an afterthought or a mistake. You are not rejected, unwanted, or forgotten. You are not beyond your ‘use by’ date. You are literally filled with God himself; a God who overtakes our humanity as we surrender to his deity.
From the beginning of time, he intended us to live free, unencumbered by self, and unimpressed with evil. Positioned in freedom, we could rule, reign, multiply, and prosper, carrying the spiritual DNA of a loving Father wherever we went. Through Jesus that freedom has been granted to us once again because God’s plan may have been interrupted, but it was never removed.
As we read yesterday, within safety, there is the freedom to risk. When I know my Father is watching, willing to intervene at my moment of need, I can leave restriction and boldly explore the unknown. An earthly father can protect and even empower us to a level, but only our heavenly Father can truly empower us to fulfill our fullest potential. Seeing our lives from his perspective begs the question: why are we afraid to ask big prayers and dream big dreams?
We have been given the Word of God which equips us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17), the Spirit of God which fills us with power (Colossians 2:9-10), and the plans of God which are here for our good (Jeremiah 29:11). Each of these is given not only for our benefit but so we can partner with God to see His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven, bringing breakthrough to a hurting world – what a privilege!
As wonderful as that is (and it is!), our partnership threatens to fall short if our vision lacks risk. Moses risked approaching Pharaoh; Joshua risked entering the Promised Land; Jesus risked leaving heaven.
In this season, what is God asking you to risk?
Reflect:
Do you see yourselves ‘completely filled with God’ when you consider taking faith steps? Would this help if you did?
What has been your biggest faith step to date and where did you see the fingerprints of God most visible in it?

About this Plan
We all desire to be known, accepted and loved. But to be truly known we must be fully free – free to make mistakes, set boundaries and take risks. Here we see Moses leaving the confines of hiding, facing his fears, and running head first into the greatest intimacy humankind can experience this side of heaven. An intimacy available to anyone willing to leave their wilderness and walk free.
