30 Day Challenge: A Walk Through ProverbsSample
Day Twenty-Two
Read Proverbs 22
Discipline is hard. No one likes being told that they messed up, and it can be difficult to tell someone that they need to change. The Bible tells us that discipline is extremely valuable when done right. In this chapter of Proverbs, we see that children who are instructed in the way they should go remember those teachings even when they are old (verse 6).
Reflect
What does verse 17 tell us?
What do we need to apply our hearts to?
Engage
Has someone ever told you that you were wrong? How did you respond?
When things don’t go our way, it is very easy to give up and react poorly. Pray that God would allow you to practice giving and taking advice.
An Extra Mile
Verse 18 of this chapter tells us to have the words of the wise ready on our lips. Try memorizing verses 17-19 as a start to keeping the Word ready on your lips.

About this Plan
Oftentimes life looks like an open road and we aren’t sure which way it will turn. Other times, we feel like we are in control of where we are heading—no need to stop for directions. As believers, we must make sure that our GPS is programmed to the Word. God is our ultimate guide through the journey; He is the Creator of the road itself.
