Better Words, Better Actions: PraiseLive's 30 Day Devotional

DAY 26 OF 30

Do you have an unpleasant past?

Many years ago I heard a radical conversion story of a woman who was deep into a lifestyle of drugs and trafficking drugs. But she had a radical encounter with Jesus, never touched drugs again, and even ministered to her cell mates when she later spent time in prison.

I love radical encounters with Jesus.

But the truth is, I don’t remember much of my life before Christ. I became a Christian as a young teenager. I came from a wonderful, stable, loving family and didn’t have much outwardly to overcome.

But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve discovered the power of becoming a new creation in Christ, DAILY.

Reflection:

Every day is a new chance to choose faith over worry. To forgive yourself of yesterday’s mistakes and start fresh. To encounter His grace and mercy for each new day. To embrace your NEW CREATION status in the kingdom of God, no matter how unpleasant your past.

Praise + Prayer:

Lord, I thank You for making me a new creation in You. Help me to move on from the past and embrace who You are in me today. Help me to reflect who You are to the hurting world around me. Help me to overflow Your grace and mercy into each person You place in my path.

Action Idea:

Spend some time meditating on 2 Corinthians 5:17. Ask the Lord to show you all the ways that He has made YOU a new creation in Him. I think you’ll be surprised at how much He has already done in you.
