Let the World See You: How to Be Real in a World Full of FakesSample
God is good. We are loved.
Recently I had a discussion with God. I was sad, angry, lost, and confused. I wanted to run from God. I tried to run from him, but he tracked me down. I found myself flat on my face in prayer, asking if he would still love me in the midst of my brokenness.
There’s no way you still love me after this mistake. I’m sorry I ran from you.
But God’s reminders are greater than our remarks. And just like all those times before, I heard it. That still, small voice. And what I heard was stern but simple: You don’t get to decide how much I love you. That’s not your call to make. I decide. Not you. Don’t you dare forget it.
Point taken. And I want to remind you, wherever you are reading these words, there is nothing that can separate you from the love of God. Not even your mistakes. When you lose, you win. That’s how it works in God’s economy. Jesus told his disciples, “But your sorrow will turn into joy. When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world” (John 16:20–21 esv).
If you’re reading this and you don’t believe this is true, it’s time to start believing. Things may seem like they’re hopeless, but they’re not. You are being made new. These are just the growing pains. This is just a phase. You are loved. Loved by a good, good God. You are chosen. You are his. Nothing can separate you from his love.
