How to Navigate a StormSample
Day 6 Devotional
Sixth principle: TAKE TIME TO REST
Sometimes we think that Jesus never rested, that He lived life to the fullest and never took time to pause and reflect. But look at this passage in Mark 6:31 "Then Jesus said to them, 'Let us go alone to a quiet place to rest for a while.' He said it because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles did not even have time to eat. ”
Jesus desired His rest and that of His group of friends. Difficult times bring wear and tear and if we do not attend to them they will give us more trouble.
Tiredness and wear and tear can lead to depression because we can lose perspective by thinking that things are worse than they really are. Do not think that rest in the storm and during problems is irresponsible. You need to have a strategy or perspective to keep a mental balance in your life. Someone who is rested will have a better perspective, make better decisions, and stay encouraged to meet every challenge the storm throws in our direction.
Rest is something that God has put into the design of His creation. It will help you to know that we will often meet God in the midst of the chaos. We should take time out to reflect and rest.
