DAY 1 OF 7

THE SAVING POWER OF GOD

News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them. (Matthew 4:24 NIV)

God came to the world being made in human likeness and His Name is called Jesus. The event when Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist in Jordan River was a sign that He humbled Himself to be equal with man.

Why was God willing to come down to the world? There are many problems faced by humans and the biggest one is sin. Therefore, He came to the world to resolve it. He came to save us from sins because there is no one who could cleanse us from our sins. He came, not to be served, but to be serve.

As we face many temptations from the devil, Jesus Christ faced the same, too. After His water baptism, Jesus was brought into the wilderness to be tested. One test was related to appetite. There are many people who are tested in this area of life and choose to leave their faith for its sake. The tests are also for wealth, power, and pride, and in all those tests Jesus Christ had won the victory.

The victory of Jesus in the wilderness had prepared Him to minister, teach, share the gospel, overcome all kinds of diseases, and resurrect the dead. Not only was the power of Jesus Christ at work in the past but it is also at work in the present. Jesus Christ remains the same today. He is able to heal the sick, deliver people from the bondage of sins and the power of darkness. He is God who is almighty above all things.

The power of God has never changed yesterday, today, and forever. Continue to be hopeful in Him.
