Devotional Day 7
“The Law of Eternal Success”
Scripture reading: Luke 12:13-21; Ephesians 2:1-10
Jesus says, “One’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses” (Luke 12:15 NKJV). It consists in living in peace here on earth and ensuring eternal life in the best place possible. In short, it’s no use following all the other biblical laws and forgetting about the Law of Eternal Success. This final devotional proposes that, in addition to your professional and financial success, you add the success of your soul, which is everlasting.
The Bible says that in order to have success in life after death, you must recognize Jesus Christ as the Son of God. He was born into the world, completed his ministry, died though innocent in order to pay for our sins, and was resurrected. Jesus promised that we would be with him after death if we followed him (John 14:3). That is why it doesn’t make sense for us to use the Bible to live well here on earth but not use it to live well in eternity. Take advantage of the wisdom in this ancient book to grow your business and your career, but don’t squander the opportunity to get to know Jesus and the transforming power he can have in your life.
God loves you enough to accept you the way you are, and he loves you enough to want you to become a better person. For those who have given their lives to Jesus and are looking to follow the teachings of the Bible, our advice is not to underestimate how much the Bible can also help you in your professional development. Pay more attention to its guidance when it comes to work, and change the way you do things if necessary.
Let God be a part of your life. He cares about your well-being and success. He works with us. Many people exhaust their strength in order to improve their lives, but they still won’t receive even half of what God has in store for those who follow him and trust in his power. Have hope in the One who left us this promise: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jer. 33:3 NIV).
Those who believe only in themselves project only what they understand to be plausible in their own eyes. This is normal. But those who believe in the existence of God project what their faith is able to reach—and the power of God is limitless. He “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Eph. 3:20 NIV).
Fulfilling your life mission on earth is an essential part of living for God’s glory. The Bible gives several reasons why your mission is so important. Your mission is a continuation of Jesus’ mission on earth.
