There's Hope For Today

DAY 50 OF 366

Find someplace to serve the Lord and get up some spiritual momentum. “Dead in the water” saints never get to the starting line on time. Saints in motion only require mid-course adjustments to hit their marks.

Sitting saints can’t even see the marks.

Momentum grants us power to crash through all obstacles. Lethargy can’t overcome the smallest molehill. The man who is faithful in small things will one day step into a larger arena. The lazy man lives under a capped potential. God’s laborers find joy in the most difficult places.

For the sitting saint, all places are difficult and joy is elusive. When the ship is under full sail, the rudder bites. Without wind and sail, no direction is found. Servants never lack for a purpose. The selfish have no capacity for vision. Workers insure a harvest. Whiners insure a drought. Those who run hard are conditioned to run harder yet. Those who fail to run diminish what strength they have. The sailor rides the wind. The slacker wastes in the doldrums.

You’ll never be ready for the marathon if you don’t start running the mile. Give yourself to the meeting of a need. All your bright tomorrows find their start in serving God today.
