There's Hope For Today

DAY 363 OF 366

Having trouble balancing your checkbook? Are you off by a couple of bucks? Don’t be too hard on yourself. The past twelve months revealed the inner workings of huge firms specializing in accounting. These firms, for all their expertise, have misplaced millions, even billions.

It really doesn’t matter very much until someone calls for an accounting. Ignorance is bliss until past due notices and payable on demand filings begin to pile up at the door. This year may be remembered as the year that business America received its past due notice. Now the Congress is investigating, confidence is flat, CEOs are pointing fingers, scapegoats are in demand, and judicial amnesia has struck at the witness stand. The day of accounting ends with fines, jail sentences, ruined reputations, and bitterness all around.

It all serves to remind us that there is a day of final accounting coming for us all. The writer to the Hebrews said that, “We must give” an accounting. Are you ready to take the witness stand? Can you defend your life?

Settle all accounts now. Ask and receive forgiveness. Set your life course by the Book of Books. Live as one under subpoena: ready, even anxious, to close the case.
