Connecting With God (Acts)Sample

Connecting With God (Acts)

DAY 1 OF 15

Are you an open-minded person?

Consider for 20-30 minutes a day, looking at the life of Jesus and His early followers from the vantage point of an eyewitness.

No matter where you may be in your spiritual journey, leave your assumptions to the side. Instead of the version of Christianity that is known for its religiosity, political hypocrisy, or judgmentalism, I believe you will discover something we all long for and our world needs – faith, love, and hope.

Reading through Luke and Acts using the Bible Project videos can be a transformative experience!

It only takes 2.5 hours to read Luke and 2.25 hours to read Acts, but the idea is to go through this intentionally in order to connect with God.

So each day, pray, watch, pray, read, and journal.

First, start by praying something like this: “God, show me who you are and show me who you created me to be.”

Second, watch the Bible Project video to give you context from a Hebrew scholar named Tim Mackie who is an expert in what the original writers actually intended.

Third, pray the same prayer again as you read a chapter or two from the Scriptures.

Finally, journal for 5-10 minutes what stood out from the video and what you read.

•What did you discover about God?
•How can you apply what you’ve read?
•What resistance are you feeling and why?
•What excites you about what you discovered and why?
