Friendship With GodSample
Day 7 - Working with God
So perhaps many of these topics have made sense so far. Maybe as you read the title for today you think, “Work? Okay this woman has taken it too far.” But consider with me, what if we invited God into every place of our lives, even work, and let Him give us the strategies and ideas? What could our jobs be like? What could our influence be like?
God wants all of us. Paul urges the Romans to present their bodies as living sacrifices. I’m pretty sure that means work is included. Recall David and the census. God told Moses to take a census but He did not tell David to do so. When David did it anyway, he ended up bring great judgement upon the Israelites.
What about Bezalel? Exodus describes how God gave him His Spirit so that he would have all knowledge and wisdom and craftsmanship to devise artistic designs and carve wood and more. What if we asked God to fill us with the same capacity to enter our workplaces and let us lead out of overflow than simply with merely our natural ability?
Today, think about how you could invite God into your workspace, regardless of what it is. Whether you’re a mom or a surgeon or a janitor or a fast food worker, God has strategies for you…what are they? Begin asking and see what bubbles up.
About this Plan
Friendship with God is all about growing your relationship with God. Throughout scripture God has many names. Comforter, Lord, Protector, Provider and on. One of the things He called Himself that really hit me hard was that He called Himself my friend. What could life look like if we live like God was actually our friend? This changed my life and I hope it will change yours as well!
