Seeking Godly Wisdom Amidst the UnknownSample
God has called us to be wise, but he doesn’t just command this and leave us to figure out what wisdom is on our own. James reminds us that we can ask God for wisdom. We can come before the King of the universe and simply ask, and he will give generously. When we abide in the Lord and come to know him deeply, he provides wisdom for us through the Holy Spirit.
The Lord also promises us we can trust him with all things and decisions, no matter how big or small they might be. We often come to the Lord with huge life decisions, but he has also promised to guide and provide for us in our seemingly minor decisions as well. He says to us, “In all your ways, know him.”
Talk it over
What areas of your life—big or small—could you bring before the Lord today?
Is there anything preventing you from bringing them to the Lord? If so, be honest with him and tell him about it.
How does trusting the Lord with all of the details of our lives strengthen our faith in him?
