Sharing God: Reflections on 2 Corinthians 5:11-21

DAY 4 OF 7

DAILY SCRIPTURE

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
(2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)

GROWING IN GOD

One of the wonderful things about following Jesus is meeting in community with other Christians. By encouraging each other, we can grow in our relationship with God together and increasingly walk in our identity as new creations in Christ!  Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV) says,

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

As we continue to share God with those who do not yet know Him, we need to remember that as Christians we must also continue to share Him with each other! In addition to our own times with the Lord personally, the Bible speaks of the importance of meeting in Christian community. There is so much we can learn from one another as we encourage and cheer each other on.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV)

Sharing God with other believers through discipling and being discipled is a key ingredient to help us live in the fulness of all that God has for us.

THOUGHTS FOR PRAYER AND REFLECTION

·  What are some of the things you love about the Christian community you are a part of? Thank God for these things!

·  Spend some time praying for your Christian community

·  Are there opportunities you would like to take to disciple others or be discipled yourself?
