GO2020 | ENGAGE: June Week 4 - ABIDESample
June 27—The Climax of His Story (History)
Read
Revelation 5:11-14
Reflect
All of Scripture leads us to the climax of history, or we could say his story. What is the climax and highest end of humanity? To be in the presence of Jesus and worship him forever. The problem is, right now there are many people who are not prepared to participate in that great action. Pastor and author John Piper, in Let the Nations Be Glad, stated, “Missions exists because worship doesn’t.” People cannot worship whom they don’t know. Our mission, and we should choose to accept it, is to bring God glory now in proclaiming his saving love, and in eternity, as we worship with the multitude no one can count.
Over the past six months we have opened our hearts to God’s Word, engaging in various themes in Scripture with the purpose of “going” and “telling” our neighbors how much we care about them, how much Jesus loves them, and that he wants to live in and with them. What a glorious day that will be when we join with the angels and saints in one voice worshiping the Lamb forever!
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, Revelation 7:9. Spend a few minutes committing it to memory.

About this Plan
As members of the body of Christ, we are called to finish the race set before us, filled with joy and love, as we give witness to the power of the gospel that changes our lives. God’s kingdom embraces differences that the world sets up as barriers to Christian unity. Especially in these times, it is important for all believers to understand the oneness we have in Christ.
