Pearls of Prayer for ParentsSample
Pearls of Protection
One look at the world today and it's clear there are many things vying for our attention. With our phones in our pockets, every distraction is instantly accessible. To understand how serious this is, we must pray for protection over our children. We have information overload with the advancement of technology. That can be positive, but this advancement also invites too many negatives as well.
Daily we need to pray effectively for the spiritual battles we face and for that which is warring for our children’s souls. The enemy knows our temptations and our weaknesses all too well, like when we feel like we aren’t praying right or enough or saying the right words to ask God to protect what He has given us. Be aware: Satan uses temptations and negatives to his advantage.
As parents, we are called to the front lines in daily battles for our children. Satan wants to kill, steal, and destroy us. He has a vendetta that can’t be satisfied unless he gets the very life God created to choose sides. Gratefully for believers, the battle has been won on Calvary, but that doesn’t stop the enemy from sticking his big toe into the door of our lives in any way, shape, or form. His goal is to get us to slip, slide, and stumble into many distracting pits. Satan loves to isolate us, overwhelming us in these ever-increasing battles.
Jesus hasn’t left us alone in the battle that brings doubt from the enemy. We have to wear the full armor of God to face our battles each day. Prayers of protection bring the best armor, which helps us stand firm, stand strong, and stand in the war for our children.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we ask that you make us strong as we hold tightly to your power. Dress us for battle with the full armor of your Word. We proclaim our struggles are not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, authorities, and powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. But by faith, we stand on Your faithfulness and strength. We take up the shield of faith, which extinguishes all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Amen.
