DAY 2 OF 8

Mighty GOD

Psalm 93:4

The sound of the water is loud. The ocean waves are powerful. But the Lord above is much greater.

Story

The land of Canaan was the Promised Land, and Jericho would be the first city to be defeated. However, Jericho was securely protected and surrounded by a mighty wall, and no one could come in and go out of the city. The Israelites didn’t have any bomb or cruise missile to attack that strong city.

God instructed Joshua on how to defeat Jericho. The Israelites had to march around the city for six days, one round each day. On the seventh day, they had to march seven times and the priest had to make a long blast with the trumpets. Then the whole Israelites had to make a great shout. They did just what the Lord commanded them to do. Before their very eyes, they witnessed the wall of Jericho fall down flat. They successfully took over Jericho not with violence, but with marching and shouting, and of course, with their obedience.

Jericho had a mighty wall that no army could overcome, but Israel had a mighty God. God is mightier than anyone and anything. Sometimes, God tells you to handle your problem in a way that is totally different from how you think it is supposed to be done. Submit totally to His way because He is a mighty God. You will see how incredibly awesome His work is for your life.

Prayer

Dear God, You can overcome all things for You are mighty. I want to submit to You through everything I face. Amen.
