DAY 39 OF 42

The Philistines Reject David

Questions to consider:

  1. What does this passage teach you about God?
  2. What does this teach you about humanity and the world?
  3. In verse 9, Achish said of David, “I know that you are as blameless in my sight as an angel of God.” How do you think those around you who don’t know Jesus view you? Would you be seen as someone with positive qualities, neutral qualities, or negative qualities? Explain.
  4. What do you want to be known for? What would need to change or remove in your life for others to see you as a man or woman of God?

Let’s Pray:

Father God, I pray that others would see you when they see me; that my character would make you proud.

About this Plan

1 Samuel

Picture this: a nation chosen by God; a prophet from an unlikely background to help show God’s ways to His people; a king whose fear and unfaithfulness bring disaster; and a man after God’s own heart who changed the nation of Israel forever. This is a story of God’s reign and rule, Israel’s choices and consequences, and two men’s different responses to God.
