Welcome to Your New LifeSample
Starting this "New Life" the right way will call for many changes. You may need to say goodbye to some old friends, or possibly change the places you hang out in. The reason for this is: that you tend to do the things that the people you hang out with do. The Lord will give you wisdom on which changes need to be made and will guide you through them. These changes are not something to be afraid of, but instead to be embraced. That’s why joining a life group is a good step to take during this time. Not only will you be able to meet people who are pursuing the same things as you, but you will also be discipled in the process.
What does "being discipled" mean? Being discipled is the process of someone helping you become like Christ. Jesus had disciples whom He taught and walked with through His time on this earth. Basically, that is the purpose of a life group. People come together to pursue the things of God and become more like Him. These will be people who will help you through the hardships of life, and celebrate your victories. If you find that the people you are hanging around are trying to drag you down instead of building you up, it is time to join a life group.
A prayer of blessing upon your "New Life":
Lord, I pray for favor and blessings in this new believer's life. I pray that they will learn to recognize your voice and be led by it. Lord, I pray that your hand of protection is upon them and that your wisdom is within them. I pray that as they read your word they will be filled with your Spirit, and with your love.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
