Spiritual Self-Care in Times of Trauma, Stress, and Loss Sample

Spiritual Self-Care in Times of Trauma, Stress, and Loss

DAY 3 OF 6

Pour Out Your Heart to God in Prayer

Do you ever feel so overwhelmed when you come to God that you have no words? Or other times when you have so much to say you hope He will hear you out?

There is no perfect way to approach God, except through his Son Jesus Christ. It was only by His sacrifice on the cross for us—and His eternal interceding on our behalf—that we are invited to come.

Never before was anyone able to access God, except the High Priest, and only with a blood sacrifice under the strictest conditions. We often take for granted that we can come to Him anytime. Anywhere. In any condition.

Prayer is acknowledging and honoring God for Who He is, asking for what we need; freedom to candidly express our emotions and continually cultivate closeness to our Savior.

No one can replace Him in your heart. And no one can replace you in His.

As you pray throughout the day and night, pause before approaching His throne of grace with gratitude. And awe. Respond to His call to communicate in closeness with you. He is listening.

About this Plan

Spiritual Self-Care in Times of Trauma, Stress, and Loss

When you wake up and realize that happily ever after is not happening, you may be tempted to pull the covers over your head and go back to sleep. Sometimes life can be very painful, but there's good news. You are not alone! There is hope! Welby O'Brien helps us see that true spiritual self-care—in the way our loving Creator designed—is a privilege. And it is totally possible.
