[Confident Series] Confident: Things We Know

DAY 6 OF 6

We Know that the True Son of God Has Come

People can doubt the goodness of God when they see evil around them. However, the historical existence of Jesus is not debated. Some can debate whether Jesus was a lunatic, a liar, or the Lord, but believers and unbelievers alike know that there was a Jewish man named Jesus who lived in the Middle East around 2000 years ago. There are historical facts that prove this beyond any doubt. As Christians, we also know that this man named Jesus was the Son of God. In fact, the Bible declares that He is God and the source of eternal life.

This knowledge is very valuable. Our secular society does not know what the truth is. So, people decided to accept everything as true. The postmodern world declared that whatever each person believes is accurate. But how can atheism and Christianity be true at the same time? It is impossible. People only say this because of uncertainty in their hearts. In the gospels, Jesus was also asked this important question: “What is truth?” Christ responded saying, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” This is a crucial statement. Everything Jesus did and said is true. Everything the Bible recorded for us to know is accurate.

Christians must know that Jesus is the true Son of God who has come. This means that there really is an evil one. There really is a true and good God. God really sent His son Jesus Christ into this world to save it from the evil one. This is the gospel, and this is really good news for this world. When we are convinced of the five truths that John taught us, we can confidently share the message of Jesus with our world.

As a Christian, you need to know that once you are born again, you should sin less. Every believer needs to know that evil has a spiritual source. Christians must be deeply rooted in their identity of being sons and daughters of God. Every child of God must stay away from the sway of this evil world. Then, every believer can confidently share with unbelievers the truth that Jesus is the Son of God who has come to redeem humanity from evil. When we know these five truths as Christians, we will live a victorious life. We will be the light in this world.
