Psalms in 30 Days

DAY 30 OF 30

Morning Prayer:

Call to Prayer (read Psalm 19:14)

Confession of Faith

I believe that in God’s own time and way, the bodily risen and ascended Christ will visibly return to consummate God’s purpose for the whole cosmos through his victory over death and the devil. He will judge the world, consigning any who persist in unbelief to an everlasting fate apart from him, where his life and light are no more. Yet he will prepare his people as a bride for the marriage supper of the Lamb, giving rest to restless hearts and life to glorified bodies as we exult in joyful fellowship with our Lord and delight in the new heaven and the new earth. There we shall reign with him and see him face to face, forever rapt in wonder, love, and praise.

Adapted from the Reforming Catholic Confession

Canticle (read Nehemiah 9:5-6)

Read Morning Psalms 144 and 145

Gloria

Glory be to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever, world without end.

Pray: The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13)

Intercessions and Personal Requests:

Prayer of the Church

O God, from whom all good proceeds: Grant that by your inspiration we may think those things that are right, and by your merciful guiding may do them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Book of Common Prayer

Blessing (read Ephesians 3:20-21)

Midday Prayer:

Call to Prayer (read Psalm 105:1)

Read Midday Psalms 146 and 147

Gloria

Glory be to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever, world without end.

Blessing (read Romans 15:13)

Evening Prayer:

Call to Prayer (read Psalm 96:9)

Confession of Sin

Most holy and merciful Father: I have not loved you with my whole heart, and mind, and strength. I have not loved my neighbors as myself.  I have not forgiven others, as I have been forgiven. I have been deaf to your call to serve, as Christ served us. I have not been true to the mind of Christ. I have grieved your Holy Spirit. Restore me, good Lord, and let your anger depart from me. By the cross of your Son, our Lord, bring me with all your saints to the joy of his resurrection.

Canticle (read Colossians 1:15-20)

Read Evening Psalms 148, 149, and 150

Gloria

Glory be to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever, world without end.

Pray: The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13)

Intercessions and Personal Requests:

Prayer of the Church

Lord, you have given us your Word for a light to shine upon our path; grant us so to meditate on that Word, and to follow its teaching, that we may find in it the light that shines more and more until the perfect day; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Jerome

Blessing

The Lord Almighty grant us a peaceful night and a perfect end. Amen.

About this Plan

Psalms in 30 Days

This plan relies on a pattern of prayer Trevin Wax developed in 2019. Here you will find all the Psalms arranged in three-times-a-day readings for thirty days. This will include a time in the morning, midday, and evening. Every prayer time begins with a call to prayer and includes the Gloria, the Lord’s Prayer, and closes with a biblical blessing.
