Attachment love is much stronger than sexual desire in the human brain. Imagine standing on a street in the old West. On one side the buildings are burning. Your child is in one of those buildings. On the other side of the street is a brothel offering free services during the fire. Which side of the street will get your attention? It isn’t even a competition. Attachment love will make us risk our lives in a fire without a thought about the prostitutes. St. Paul describes attachment love in another way when he says that those who are glued to Jesus are one spirit with Him. Since Jesus won’t leave us why would we drag Him in to see a prostitute? Attachment love lets us live a Jesus stile life or it will drag Jesus through the mud in our lives when we go our own ways.
