STATIONS OF THE CROSS - EASTER PLANSample
JESUS FALLS THE THIRD TIME
Even with the prior help of Simon and the compassion of Veronica, Jesus falls yet again. Suffering through physical and emotional pain, Jesus shows us His human weakness. He knew that His crucifixion lay ahead, and His human self was full of dread. He wanted to be delivered from this horrible death.
Yet He knew that God sent Him into this world to die for our sins, a human death on the cross in our place. Although Jesus' human will wasn't in sync with the will of God, He said no to his human desire to give up. He picked Himself up and moved forward to obey His Father and to glorify Him.
It's often challenging to pick yourself up and continue, especially when the going gets rough and unpleasant things lie on the horizon. Fortunately, we can receive strength, love, and wisdom from our Lord Jesus when we ask for His help in prayer. With God's help, we can run the good race and finish well.
