GLOBAL CRISIS PRAYERS – Praying for Everyone, Everywhere

DAY 7 OF 7

Day 7. Pray for Personal Guidance

In times of crisis—as in times of peace and calm—it’s essential that you monitor your own walk with God. “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize,” wrote the apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 9:24). Pray that God would help you to run for the prize in every area of your personal life.

List specific prayer requests for His guidance in these five key areas: personal, family, work/school, church, and community. Personalize Romans 12:1-2.

Thank God for all that He has done, is doing, and will do (because He has promised!) on your behalf, such as helping you to live, love, and lead like Jesus as you become more and more like Him every day (see Philippians 1:6, Romans 8:28-29).

Be aware of the spiritual battle that rages. The apostle Peter put it this way, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). Remember, God has given you spiritual armor for the spiritual battle; be sure to pray on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Pray that on a daily, moment-by-moment basis you would know His presence and live in such a way as to please Him. Pray that you will reflect His love, grace, and mercy to all around you—in everyday life, yes, and especially in times of global crisis!

Indeed, in such times as these, ask the Lord to enable you to be like Joshua, "strong and of good courage" (see Joshua 1:1-9); like Paul, fighting the good fight, keeping the faith, finishing the race (2 Timothy 4:7); like Jesus, the ultimate servant leader, modeling the way (John 13:1-17)!

Day 6

About this Plan

GLOBAL CRISIS PRAYERS – Praying for Everyone, Everywhere

While we’re called to pray at all times, we especially cry out to God in times of global crises—such as poverty, violence, disease. Yet how do we pray globally? How can we pray for everyone, everywhere? Over the next seven days, you'll find practical ways you can talk to God about people near and far, ensuring that “supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
