FRUITFUL & FULFILLED An Abundant Life Self-AssessmentSample
N – Next Steps for a New You
“Nowhere does the Bible call the [Christian] faith a leap—it calls it a walk. Think about it. What is a walk? It is a lot of little steps in the same direction. It is a journey taken one step at a time.” —Eddie Rasnake
Someone has said, “If it’s not on the calendar, it’s not going to happen.” Now that’s practical! And now it’s time to get practical.
With an eye on the prize of living a fruitful and fulfilled life in the Lord, finally, let’s turn our attention to unpacking the P.L.A.N. acronym with an “N,” an encouragement to think through next steps for a new you.
Again, grab a pen and paper or journal and prayerfully complete this process:
- Pick up an annual planner.
- Look over your answers on Aspire to Move Forward.
- Make a list of possible goals that spring from your responses.
- Take your list to God. Which goals do you sense He wants you to work on? Choose three to five.
- Pray for wisdom on how you can accomplish the goals you chose.
- Negate any thoughts that may be holding you back by reframing each thought to encourage you to succeed. For example, reframe, “I can’t get there from here” to, “Since all things are possible with God, I can get there from here!” Have a mindset of the Spirit (Romans 8:6-7) and purpose to let God transform the way you think (Romans 12:2).
- Determine a do-able target date for each goal.
- Make a list of steps you will need to accomplish to reach each goal.
- Determine how long it will take to reach each goal.
- Place each step for each goal on your calendar.
- Determine ways to hold yourself accountable for each goal you set.

About this Plan
Jesus came that we might have "life to the full," and He warned that an enemy aims to rob us of it (John 10:10). Thus, from our experience, we must be intentional in this pursuit of abundant life. This assessment will help you to do just that by developing a personal P.L.A.N., an acronym we use to help you be fruitful and fulfilled in life and ministry. Enjoy the journey!
