HOW CAN I TRUST GOD WHEN HE ALLOWED ME TO BE ABUSED AS A CHILD?

After being sexually abused by my father, and abandoned in the situation by my mother and other relatives who did nothing to help me, I definitely had attitudes that were poisoning my life. I wanted to get back at the people who hurt me, as well as the ones who did not help me. I was bitter, filled with resentment, and felt that the world owed me something.

Once I learned that God loved justice and wanted to deal with the things from my past Himself, instead of me trying to do it my way, everything started changing for me. I won’t say that it all happened overnight, but gradually my brokenness was healed and God truly took the bad things that were done to me and worked them out for good.

I think it might be safe to say that most of our suffering in life comes from unjust treatment by evil people, but some of it can come from people who say they love us. When that is the case, the wounds are even deeper. But no matter how deep or intense a problem has been, God can reach it, heal it, work good out of it, and recompense you for past pain.
