Day 93 (Sunday): Launch Day

Today’s Big Idea: Perseverance. This is it! The day everything has been leading toward. If your project centers around a big event, it will happen today. If your project starts a new direction or program for your church, it will launch today. May the Lord be with you and your church as you step out on this great new, God-guided adventure of faith!

Your church is part of a long line of saints through history, people who made decisions others were afraid to make or were not called to make. This week, we’ll be reflecting back on this Launch Day by looking at what many have called the Faith Hall of Fame in Hebrews 11. 

Key Verse: “My righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved (Hebrews 10:38–39).

Thoughts to Consider: Before introducing us to the great people of the faith, the writer of Hebrews quoted from the prophet Habakkuk, who told the ancient Israelites their righteousness did not come from how hard they worked but because of the God they have faith in. Because of this, “We do not belong to those who shrink back.” I pray that is true of you and your church. As you step out in faith today, it can be the start of a wonderful new chapter for your congregation, but it’s also a chapter in the great story of faith—in the story of those who did not shrink back.
