Today’s Big Idea: Gathered as a temple. Now that God the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, we have Him with us everywhere, at all times, and that should never be treated lightly.
Key Verse: In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit (Ephesians 2:21–22).
Thoughts to Consider: On the Day of Pentecost, God showed up at His physical temple to make us His spiritual temple. From this day forward, God’s presence would no longer be restricted to a physical location—not to a single temple or even multiple church buildings. He is present in and with us. When we’re alone and need to know God is there and when we’re gathered in His name.

This devotional is a companion to the book 100 Days to a Healthier Church, by Karl Vaters. Like the book, the principles laid out here are not one-time, quick-fix solutions.
