The Power of the Spirit

God wants your life to be full, meaningful, and powerful. Sometimes it doesn’t feel that way when we face the “business as usual” realities of our daily walk or the constant demands and insurmountable pressures that work to trip us up and distract us. That’s why we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us power to be His witnesses.

Looking at Acts 13:4-15 revamps our mundane and sometimes self-absorbed thinking. When a life is filled with God’s Spirit, miracles happen. Barnabus and Saul were men filled with God’s Spirit. They were ready to do what God wanted them to. As a result, their ministries took shape and the gospel moved forward. Saul, for instance, yielded to God and was used mightily to identify and paralyze the enemy. After his conversion, Saul became known as Paul, the apostle whose ministry still affects the lives of believers today. 

God wants to use you in His powerful ways to advance His Kingdom. Be a person filled and led by His Spirit. 

Think about your spiritual temperature. Are you being continually filled with God’s Spirit? Go to God in prayer and ask for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit. He wants to fill you so you can make an impact. Spend time waiting on God.
