GO2020 | ENGAGE: March Week 3 - CARESample
March 21—Everyone under the Sun
Read
Matthew 5:43-45
Reflect
God allows us to encounter various people to love—those who are neglected because of their social status, their sin, their poverty, or because of a debilitating condition. Ultimately, God wants us to care for all people, whether weak or strong, rich or poor, Christian or non-Christian, and in so doing we model his love (Matthew 5:45). He extends his love to all, even to those who don’t reciprocate.
We don’t know how our love and care will impact someone. We hope and pray that our love and care will enable them to open their hearts in order to put their trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Never rule anyone out based on outward appearance or circumstances of life.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, James 1:27. Spend a few minutes committing it to memory.

About this Plan
Human need comes in many different forms—from a stranger asking for directions to a loved one in desperate need of healing. Our care for them can be physical, but often it is care for the soul, such as being present with a friend experiencing heartbreak. A hurting world calls for people who care. In Scripture we discover various folks who need the care of the followers of Jesus.
