Epic (Part 4): The Storyline Of The BibleSample

The Feast of Passover is the time God chooses for his Son’s death. The Passover was a holiday which Jews celebrated to remember a time when the people of Israel killed lambs and put the blood on the doorways so they would not be killed. Jesus was about to be killed so we could have eternal life. His celebration of the Passover is our model for how we celebrate communion in Christian churches today. The failings of two of Jesus’ disciples are described here as well. Judas betrayed Jesus, and Peter denied knowing him.
Probably everyone makes mistakes like Judas and Peter did at times. Judas’ rejection of Jesus continued until he committed suicide, but Peter returned to Jesus. We would all love to avoid making mistakes in our relationship with Jesus, but thankfully, Jesus’ death covers all of our mistakes if we accept him.

About this Plan

This is final part of a four part plan to read the books of the Bible that tell of the historical events. Although the Bible contains many stories, it is one epic story of God’s interactions with humanity. One day per week can be used to catch up on missed readings or for reflection. Notes are also included to assist with understanding.
