The Holy Spirit is Your Helper

In John 14, Jesus tells His disciples (and you) that He will be leaving Earth to “prepare a place” in Heaven for them (and you). The disciples become concerned because they do not want Jesus to leave them. He tells them (and you) that He will return to get them (and you) some day.

He also says that while He is away, He will send the “Helper”, who is the Holy Spirit. He assures the disciples (and you) that the Holy Spirit will be with them (and you) forever. Not only will the Holy Spirit be with them (and you), He will be in them (and you) …forever.

As a follower of Jesus, the Holy Spirit lives inside of you. He is there to help you.

The Holy Spirit does the following:

1)  He helps you in your weakness. – Romans 8:26

2)  Prays on your behalf. – Romans 8:26

3)  He will change you over time to be more like Jesus. - 2 Thessalonians 2:13

These are just a few of the roles the Holy Spirit plays in your life. Do not be afraid of Him; He is your Helper. What an honor it is to have God, the Creator of the universe, living inside of you!

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I believe in You. I believe that You are God and that You live inside of me. I ask that You will make me more like Jesus today. Give me the strength to overcome my sin and any struggles that I may face. Give me understanding as I seek to know You more. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
