Book of Isaiah Sample
THE CLAY
"Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." (Isaiah 64: 8 NIV). As we read this verse, we realize that we should not be arrogant. Why? Because we are no more than a pile of clay.
We are the clay and the Lord is our potter. Of course, the clay has no power whatsoever. The clay can never control or influence the maker to shape him the way he wishes. It's the creator who knows what kind of clay and what product He can create using the clay to make it as beautiful as can be.
Therefore it is not our greatness that can make us good, abundant and safe, but merely because of the greatness of God who form us to be beautiful vessels. Remember that God is always with us, a Sower who loves us so much and does not want any of us to perish. Let us destroy our pride and arrogance. Let us live humbly, be diligent to help others, and be fully surrendered to God in all things. None of God's plans will fail and all His plans are plans to bring peace and hope for the future.
Do not be arrogant but live humbly, glorifying God because we are only God-made clay.
