NO COMPROMISE
This chapter shows Ezra's reaction to the sins committed by exiled Israelites who were given the opportunity to return to Jerusalem from Babylon. After several months of living in Jerusalem, Ezra received reports that the Israelites were married to other Gentiles—even the priests, the Levites, and the rulers. This is a tragic event and it is understandable that Ezra mourns. He tears his clothes and pulls out his beard and the hair on his head. Although Ezra did not share the sin, he came to God to confess the wrongs of his people.
It becomes very complicated when we begin to compromise with things that are not from God. Anything that goes against God's holiness and standards will ultimately lead us away from Him. In our spiritual journey, let us not share it with "lusts/sin" to defeat God's holiness. For if we begin to compromise with sin, it will eventually bring regret in this life. Live, by keeping the holiness of God.
To live in holiness, we need to ask God for strength because human strength is limited and we easily fall into sin. But the power of God is perfect. With God, we will be able to resist every temptation. Let us live our lives obediently to Jesus and avoid sinning.
Living with compromise will lead us away from God.
